Do you find yourself
puzzled by life?
Stuck in unhealthy patterns and not knowing what to do next? Maybe it feels like everything you’ve tried backfires or just doesn’t work, or you can’t find the right words to say to the people you love most. Are you having a hard time getting past your past? You can try everything you know, use all your skills, and still be unhappy. When that happens, it’s time to get some help.
I tell my clients, “If you want a different outcome, you have to do something different.” You may have tried everything you know, but I bet you haven’t tried everything I know to make your life, your relationships, yourself better.
I offer a confidential and comfortable setting where you can express your concerns, troubles and feelings. Through intense listening and expert guidance, I help you learn to recognize unhealthy patterns and make positive changes. My clients tell me that they feel heard and understood, supported, wisely-guided, validated and more optimistic right from the very start.
- Counseling is effective. The act of talking with a skilled, compassionate professional promotes growth and change almost immediately. Clients often leave the very first session with some new insight or idea to try.
- Marriages & relationships can be saved with therapy. Some of the most troubled couples I’ve worked with have created strong, happy, joyous relationships with couples’ counseling and hard work.
- Early intervention is important. The longer problems exist, the more “stuck” we become. It’s almost always easier to make changes when things have been bad for a few weeks or a few months than when it’s been hard for many years.
- The client/therapist relationship is paramount. More important than degree, license, or years of experience is finding a therapist that you feel comfortable with. Referrals and recommendations from people you trust are a great way to start, but the right therapist for someone else might not be right for you. With the right counselor for you, so many things are possible, but seeing someone you don’t feel good about can be counter-productive and even damaging.
I know it can be unnerving to think about counseling.
Things may be hard now, but therapy can also be tough. It can be tempting to just stick it out, can’t it? I urge you to try thinking about it this way: If pain is a given, if it’s going to be hard no matter what, always choose the path that moves you forward, not the path that keeps you stuck or sets you back. If your life is painful now, and you’re worried that therapy will also be painful, choose therapy…it will move you forward, out of the pain and into the lightness of a healthy, happy, fulfilling life!
